Do Cut-Resistant Gloves Really Prevent Cuts?

Cut-resistant gloves do offer effective protection, but they can`t provide absolute safety. Their major function is to reduce risk, but not eliminate injury completely.

Cut-resistant gloves primarily aim to cutting. They utilize high-strength fibers (such as aramid and HPPE) or steel wire to form a strong physical barrier, preventing cuts by increasing resistance and friction during cutting.

The most reliable way to judge glove performance is to check its cut resistance rating. Internationally, there are two main systems, EN388 (European standard) and ANSI/ISEA105 (American standard). In short, the higher the number/letter in the rating, the stronger the protection

Many high-end gloves use blended technologies (such as "HPPE + glass fiber" or "aramid + steel wire") to balance cut resistance, comfort and cost, achieving optimal overall performance.
