Materials of work gloves and their advantage & disadvantage

1, Nitrile rubber
Advantages: low cost, excellent physical properties, good flexibility, excellent scratch-resistance, puncture-resistance, abrasion-resistance and cut-resistance.
Disadvantages: Poor protection against many ketones, aromatic chemicals, and moderately polar compounds.

2, Natural rubber
Advantages: low cost, good physical properties, heavy-duty style with good cut resistance and excellent flexibility.
Disadvantages: Poor protection against oils and organic compounds, risk of protein allergy, easy to break down and age.

3. PVC
Advantages: low cost, good physical performance, and lowest risk of allergic reactions.
Disadvantages: Organic solvents can wash away plasticizer on the work glove and create different molecular sizes of "black holes" on glove polymer, which can lead to rapid penetration of chemicals.
4, PVA
Advantages: very strong, high chemical-resistance, good physical properties, excellent scratch resistance, puncture resistance, wear resistance and cutting resistance.
Disadvantages: Decomposes quickly when exposed to water and light alcohol; less flexible than many other chemical resistant gloves; high cost.

5, Neoprene
Advantages: Good chemical resistance. It has excellent chemical resistance to oily substances, acids (nitric acid and sulfuric acid), alkalis, broad solvents (such as phenol, aniline and ethylene glycol), ketones, refrigerants and detergents, which also has moderate physical properties.
Disadvantages: anti-hook resistance, cutting resistance, piercing resistance and wear resistance are not as good as nitrile rubber and natural rubber.  Neoprene is not recommend for using in aromatic organic solvents, because the price is higher

6, Butyl rubber
Advantages: Good flexibility, excellent corrosion resistance for intermediate polar organic compounds, such as aniline and phenol, glycol ethers, ketones and aldehydes.
Disadvantages: Poor protection for non-polar solvents, including hydrocarbons, chlorocarbons and fluorocarbons. Cost is high.

7, leather gloves
General protection against cold, heat, spark splash, wear, cut, and puncture.

8, cloth gloves
For general protection.
